Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 September 2026. This policy explains what information TelePsychics.ca collects, why, and the choices you have. We collect only what a reading-focused publication with a small shop needs, and we do not sell your personal information.

1. Who is responsible

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message. Used only to reply to you.
• Comments: your name, email address, optional website, the comment text, and the IP address and browser string at posting time (collected by WordPress to help detect spam). Your name and comment are public; your email is not.
• Accounts and orders: if you register or buy something, we store your username, email address, password hash, billing name and address, and a record of what you ordered and paid. Card details are entered directly with our payment provider and are never stored by us.

Information collected automatically

• Server and security logs: IP address, requested pages, timestamps and browser type, kept by our hosting provider and by the content-delivery and security services that protect the site.
• Analytics: aggregated page-view statistics so we can see which guides are read. These are not used to identify individuals.
• Spam protection: comments and form submissions are checked by an anti-spam service and, on the contact form, a CAPTCHA.

3. Cookies

We use functional cookies (set by WordPress if you comment, log in or have items at checkout), security cookies from our protection services, and analytics cookies. Embedded third-party content may set its own cookies under that provider’s policy. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; browsing will still work, although logging in and checkout require cookies.

4. Affiliate links

Some links lead to psychic-reading services that pay us a commission if you sign up. The partner or its tracking network may set a cookie to attribute the referral. We receive aggregate reports, not your name, payment details or reading history. Each partner has its own privacy policy.

5. How we use information

• To publish and maintain the site.
• To respond to messages.
• To process orders, provide what you bought and handle refunds.
• To display and moderate comments and detect spam and abuse.
• To measure readership and improve guides.
• To comply with legal obligations, including tax and accounting rules, and to establish or defend legal claims.

Where a legal basis is required, we rely on the contract with you for orders, on our legitimate interest in running a secure, useful publication, on your consent where you contact us or comment, and on legal obligation where applicable.

6. Sharing

We share data only with providers that help us operate the site (hosting, content delivery, security, anti-spam, analytics, email and our payment provider), with affiliate networks as described above, and when required by law or to protect readers’ or our own rights and safety. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

7. Retention

Contact messages are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted. Comments stay published until you ask us to remove them. Account data is kept until you delete the account. Order records are kept for the period required by tax and accounting law, typically seven years. Security logs are kept for a limited period set by the provider, typically 30 to 90 days.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to processing, to portability, and to complain to a supervisory authority such as the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. We extend access, correction and deletion to every reader regardless of location. Email [email protected] from the address you used with us, or write to the postal address above. We respond within 30 days and never treat you differently for making a request.

9. International transfers

The site is hosted in the United States. If you visit from Canada or elsewhere, your information is processed in the United States, where it may be subject to US law. Our providers apply safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required.

10. Children

The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

The site is served over HTTPS and protected by a web application firewall and security monitoring. Payments are handled on the payment provider’s secure pages. Please do not send full card numbers or government identifiers through the contact form.

12. Changes

We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version; significant changes will be flagged here for at least 30 days.
